Plastic and Card Kerb Side Recycling |
Whitehill Online can reveal that residents of Kidsgrove will shortly be receiving information regarding a plastic and card board kerb side recycling scheme. This is what we and many residents have been asking for from the council and it appears that it will soon become a reality.
We are unsure on the details of how the scheme will work at this moment, however it will be introduced in the summer of 2009. It is fair to assume that this could mean that general waste collections could move to fortnightly, something which is sure to create a great deal of debate.

Staffordshire County Council Elections 2009 |
On June the 4th you will have the chance to vote on how Staffordshire County Council is run. In the Kidsgrove and Talke areas we have to elect two councillors to represent the views and interests in local people.
To give you an idea of what SCC is responsible for and how they are currently performing consider the state of the highways and the ever increasing pot holes or on a more positive side education standards in the county are said to be "improving".
So at these elections you need to vote for 2 people from the following list;

appears that there is a big issue in the local area at the moment regarding pot holes in the Whitehill and Kidsgrove area. People in the forums are talking about how they have reported them to Staffordshire Country Council however nothing seems to be done about them.
If you know of a pot hole or defect on any local road we would like you to report it to Staffordshire County Council using their new online feature. The link for this can be found in the forum boards useful links section.
