A garden at harvest is lovely to see with veggies, fruits, flowers as full as can be and roses ,chrysanthemums and hollyhocks tall, neat little borders with verbena small. Carrots, potatoes, beans, peas, and beet, but only the best ware good enough to eat.
The gardener with care his ground he had prepared, lime bonemeal, manure; nothing he had spared. A small bit of peat, and only the best seed, all the things his ground would need. But all would be lost, nothing would he gain, If God never supplied air, sunshine and rain.
Let us thank God for our harvest today, as we see veg, fruit , cakes and bread on display. A few years ago we too had no bread there was no famine - but a bread strike instead. Having no bread made us all understand about an earthquake or flood in afar off land.
Today we thank Eddie who on his missions abroad takes parcels and scripture in the name of our Lord Jesus still says in two thousand and three 'What you do for others , you do unto ME Man working with God supplies all of our food, by communing with God his soul is renewed.
And in theses happy harvest hours, We find Love and Peace, God's choicest flowers
